The dried skins of coffee cherries are known as coffee peel. After the seeds have been removed from the cherries, the pulped skins are collected. They are then sun-dried before being packaged and shipped. It has antimicrobial properties that may protect the skin from germs and also works well as an exfoliant. Because they do not dissolve in water, they are effective at removing dead skin cells.
