Cinnamon is a spice derived from the inner bark of trees known scientifically as Cinnamomum. Cinnamon also has a high concentration of polyphenol antioxidants. Antioxidants, which are found in fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices, can help protect the body from disease. Cinnamon's antioxidants have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
